Mission

Our mission is to foster a sense of international community that builds on the University's strong intellectual and Catholic mission. Global Strategies coordinates and facilitates University-wide global education by sponsoring international exchanges of students and faculty and serving as a resource for departments and schools on campus that undertake international initiatives. In coordinating international initiatives, Global Strategies advances the international character of the University by promoting, supporting, and developing a wide range of international and intercultural educational opportunities for members of the community.

Initiatives

  • Restructure the Grant-in-Aid program to offer international opportunities for our full-time faculty. Call for proposals will be issued annually and the most promising projects will be funded.

  • Organize workshops to mentor our faculty on how to identify funding opportunities for long term leaves and summer programs abroad. Faculty will be encouraged to propose international research programs and will be coached on how to successfully obtain funds for global initiatives.

  • Map our current presence abroad and establishing new international partnerships to offer opportunities for our faculty and students.

  • Organize annual International Fairs to provide faculty and graduate students the opportunities to meet those who have been abroad and share their experiences.

  • Support and collaborate with faculty to join internationally funded projects and invite collaborators to visit us.

  • Create opportunities for international scholars to visit The Catholic University of America to engage in research and teaching.
